The older versions of Netscape and Explorer do not have
the capabilities that newer Web pages require.  The pages today
need Java language and plugins for video and sound.
Once at Netscape get some plug-ins the "wizzard"
will walk you through without a hitch!!
Explorer uses "Windows" for all of its needs. You might
want to download the latest media player while you
are at the microsoft site.

Now the dreded modem problem. I recommend at least
a 5600 Kbps* modem. 56k modems are resonably priced at certain
"Outlets." Depending on how old your machine is, the price
varies. If you have a 486 style computer, your motherboard
is not compatable with some modems. The slots that you have
are called Api. The newer "Pentiums," have Isp slots. The
modems for Isp's are around $35.00, while Api is $60.00-&-->!

BASIC:: AT LEAST A PENTIUM 200, SOUND CARD,
AND 4800 Kbps*. modem. NETSCAPE BROWSER
WITH JAVA SUPPORT.
OPTIMUM:: PENTIUM 350 or (AMDK6-2), SOUND CARD,
AND 5600 Kbps*. modem. NETSCAPE BROWSER
WITH JAVA SUPPORT.

*Kbps = kilobits per second
